Your files
Your files are never uploaded. When you choose a contact file, photo or PDF, SafeTools works on it on your device. We do not receive a copy, keep a copy or sell information from it.
You can keep using a tool after the page has loaded even if your connection drops. That is a simple way to see that your file does not need to be sent away for the tool to work.
Nothing is stored by SafeTools. When you close the page, we do not retain your file or its contents.
Your preferences
We remember whether you chose the light or dark appearance on this device. Clearing your browser data removes that preference.
Your browser may also save parts of SafeTools so the pages can work offline. This does not save your files.
Analytics and advertising
SafeTools does not currently use analytics or show advertising. We do not sell personal information or build a profile from your files.
If we add Google advertising in the future, Google and other advertising partners may use cookies to show and measure ads. You will be shown the appropriate choices where required. You can manage personalised Google ads in Google Ad Settings. This would never give an advertiser access to the files you use in a SafeTools tool.
The one exception
The photo tools can show where a photo was taken on a map. Loading that map asks a map service for images of that area, which can reveal the approximate location to the map service.
The map stays off until you actively choose to load it. If you do, your browser requests map images from tile.openstreetmap.org. The coordinates are also shown as text, so you never have to load a map to see them.
This is the only request this site is able to make to anywhere other than itself.
What the host can see
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare can see the ordinary details of a request for a page: your IP address, the time, which page, and your browser's user agent. That is true of every website you visit and is outside this site's control. It applies to the page itself, never to your files, which are never part of any request.
Changes
If this ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that would weaken what is described here would be a change to the product rather than to this page, and would be said plainly on the tool it affected.
