Using the tools

SafeTools is free to use, for anything, including commercial work. There is no account, no sign up and no limit. You do not need permission.

Everything runs in your browser, so you are the only one who ever has your files. That also means the results are yours entirely: nothing here claims any rights over what you put in or what comes out.

Provided as is

These tools are offered without warranty of any kind. They are carefully built and thoroughly tested, but software has bugs, file formats have corners, and no test suite catches everything.

Keep your originals. Check the output before you rely on it or delete anything, particularly when the result is going somewhere you cannot take it back from.

What each tool does and does not promise

• The photo cleaner removes hidden location, camera and personal details from JPEG, PNG and WebP photos, then checks the cleaned copy before offering it for download. It cannot remove information visible in the picture itself, and a file name can still identify a place. HEIC photos are converted to JPEG, which can slightly change the image.
• The PDF converter can keep text sharp where possible, or change every page to an image for a more complete conversion. The first option may leave photos in colour; the second can remove selectable text, links, form fields and bookmarks. The tool explains the result and shows the real before-and-after size.
• The contact converters read common phone and address-book contact files and create CSV, Excel or VCF downloads. Check the first import into Google Contacts or Outlook to make sure the columns suit the way you organise your contacts.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss arising from using these tools, including lost or damaged files. Given that nothing is uploaded, the files at risk are the ones on your own device, which is why keeping the originals is worth repeating.

The map

If you choose to load the optional map, map data comes from OpenStreetMap and is used under the Open Database Licence. Their terms apply to that data, and theprivacy page explains what loading it reveals.

Availability

There is no guarantee this site stays online. If it disappears, anything you have already downloaded is unaffected, and any page you have visited keeps working offline for as long as your browser holds its cache.
